Horry County Goes Live with EGS .

On October 22^nd 2002 Horry County held a press conference to unveil the Horry County e-government gateway which is built upon the EGS Real Property Module and the ESRI 'My Neighborhood' Module.  The public response has been incredible, and has allowed Horry to decrease call volume into their public offices and physical requests for information at the department offices. Horry currently is serving Real Property data and Register of Deeds data real time to the public, and will be bringing up the Comparable Sales module in the coming month. Horry County's Information technology Director Sheila Butler had this to say about the EGS product "The EGS product has given us the ability to begin offering better services to our citizens thru e-Government.  Based on our current infrastructure, the EGS product solution offered us the most effective method to evolve into our e-Government objectives."
